Some of the best conversations you'll ever have as a couple don't happen by accident.
They happen when you make a little space for them.
That's exactly what the Sunday Check-In is: a simple, guided weekly ritual that gives you and your partner 30 to 60 minutes each week to slow down, check in, and actually connect. Not just about the week's logistics. About each other.
Here's how it works:
You set the scene: phones away, something warm to drink, somewhere you both feel comfortable. Then you move through four steps together, taking turns and actually listening.
Step 1 — Appreciation. Each of you shares 2–3 things you genuinely appreciated about the other this week. Small things count. This sets a warm tone and reminds you both you're on the same team.
Step 2 — Emotional Check-In. Three questions: What did I feel this week but not say out loud? When did I feel closest to you? What did I especially appreciate about you? One person speaks, the other listens — no fixing, no interrupting. Just presence.
Step 3 — Needs & Clarity. Share what's been on your mind and what would help you feel more supported. No blame, no pressure — just honest conversation from your own perspective.
Step 4 — Intentions for the Week. Each of you names one thing you want to bring into the relationship in the coming week. Small and specific. A direction, not a promise.
Why structure helps — even in good relationships.
Most couples aren't missing love or time. They're missing a regular, low-pressure space to say the things that got lost in the week.
The Sunday Check-In creates that space. The prompts do the heavy lifting, so neither of you has to figure out what to say or how to start.
Couples who do this weekly report fewer misunderstandings, more appreciation, and more of the feeling that someone truly knows what's going on with them.
This is for you if:
- You want to stay genuinely close, not just coexist well
- Your weeks tend to fill up before real conversation gets a chance
- You'd love a regular ritual that brings you closer without it feeling like work
- One of you is naturally more of a talker, and you want something that makes it easy for both
